Leading aspirant for the upcoming Akoko Edo chairmanship election under the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC), Humphrey Teddy Adewumi has said he is interested in helping to fix Akoko Edo for all instead of amassing wealth to the detriment of the people as chairman. Teddy made this declaration shortly as he visits Akoko Edo recently to boost his presence with the grassroots.
According to Teddy, “my desire is to see a better Akoko Edo irrespective of which constituency anyone comes from. We are bonded by nature and such natural unification must be sustained and consolidated. We are lucky people created by God but over time, we have had to experience bad political leadership wherein persons will come to power but prefer to be nepotistic and self-complacent. Such an unpleasant situation doesn’t befit our people and that is why am presenting my skills and experience in leadership and management to help rejig and fix Akoko Edo for the benefit of our people”.
On his political experience having just come on stream, he said, “common on my people, I have been in politics even in my school days. I have had to play mainstream politics behind the board, financing and policy advisory role. Look at my role in the last off-cycle governorship election in Edo last September, I was able to mobilize votes from across the local government even though I am of the Okpameri extraction. Do you think it is easy to navigate Akoko Edo politically if you don’t have the time, strength,popularity and above all money”?
“Don’t get me twisted Oga blogger, when I said money I don’t mean to say that I am brutally wealthy but thank God for my life. The little I have been blessed with by God, I try my possible best to extend my benevolence to the needy. We have taken care of women who have been trapped in medical bills, we have been making WAEC and NECO enrolment annually, school fees for our children in tertiary institution, portable Borehole water and classroom rehabilitation/construction and above all, our business accommodates as many as possible employees for which we are grateful to God”.
Teddy is capable and ready to serve Akoko Edo. He is not the type who struggles to meet daily needs. He is a man God blesses and wants to return little back to the society which has been steadfast. Many have met him and know the humanness in him. Let us educate the masses of the new Akoko Edo we envisage coming from Humphrey Teddy Adewumi who is willing and ready to serve us as chairman of the council.
