On the 10th of April, 2025, the light of compassion shone brightly once again in Ward 6 of Akoko-Edo LGA, as the Teddy Adewumi Foundation (TAF) continued its transformational outreach across the region. This time, the team visited Okpe Primary Health Centre, a critical healthcare facility serving the rural heart of the community.
Though the matron, Mrs. Adebayo Sarah, was unavoidably absent, she was ably represented by Miss Precious Oyarero, a dedicated Community Health Extension Worker (CHEW), who welcomed the Foundation’s team with gratitude and open arms.
In an act that touched the very soul of humanity, the Foundation cleared all outstanding medical bills for patients who had been unable to pay. Among them was Mrs. Idonijie Rejoice, a young mother who had delivered her baby just a week prior but remained in distress over unpaid bills. Her joy overflowed as her burden was lifted. With tearful appreciation, she prayed earnestly that God would continue to uplift the visionary Founder and Leader, Mr. Humphrey Teddy Adewumi, empowering him to fulfill his divine purpose for humanity.
In a similarly moving moment, Miss Oyarero offered heartfelt words on behalf of the health centre. “For someone of Mr. Adewumi’s status to think about the poor and reach down to lift them in this manner—it is truly remarkable,” she said. “We are deeply grateful for this gesture, and we pray God continues to protect, provide, and always come through for him at every point of his need.”
This visit is more than a routine outreach—it is a manifestation of leadership rooted in love, empathy, and people-driven purpose. Mr. Humphrey Teddy Adewumi has once again demonstrated that leadership is not about power or position, but about service, sacrifice, and the courage to care.
The impact of the Teddy Adewumi Foundation continues to ripple through the ten wards of Akoko-Edo, with Ward 6 now a shining example of what is possible when vision meets compassion. In a time when our people yearn for purposeful leadership, Teddy Adewumi stands tall as a beacon of hope—one who does not just promise change but delivers it directly into the hands of the people.
This is not just philanthropy—it is a movement. It is legacy in motion. It is the heart of Akoko-Edo beating stronger because one man chose to act.
