AKOKO EDO CHAIRMAN NOW FULLY APC MEMBER, AS COMMISSIONER EULOGIZES HIM

Many wanted Comrade Alabliss Oshionogue, Chairman Akoko Edo LG to officially decamp to the ruling party APC. The urgent need was to get down to full blown business of developing the local government and its material and human resources. Normally, it is strange and difficult to have a governor at the state and then at the local government a different political party will be in control. Such incoherent administration and leadership doesn’t bring productivity and efficiency as loyalty will be really difficult.

As if to say the above was viewed along same perspective, last week, Akoko Edo Chairman Alabliss Oshionogue and 16 others met in Benin City to officially decamp from People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to All Progressive Party (APC).

Received by the Edo state Governor Sen Monday Okpebholo, the former PDP local government chairmen pledged loyalty to the state governor and said they have seen the strong desire and tenacity of the governor to move the state from stagnancy to functional and operational state wherein infrastructural development and good social wellbeing of the people are the governor’s ultimate goal.

Receiving the decampees, Governor Okpebholo said, “we are happy to hear that you appreciate our approach to governance which we have tagged practical governance and a New Edo Has Risen. We receive you all today with a good mind and same political ideology into APC. Note that in APC, we are one family and no discrimination or disparity in status and position. We enjoin you all to put yourselves into the SHINE Agenda of the state government and do everything possible to actualize the mission and vision of APC in the state.

Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social development in Edo State, Chief Olabisi Marie Idaomi who was elated to have her own local government Chairman come ro decamp to APC said, “I welcome you to our party APC. You will carry our people and our LGA to the next level because Gov Monday Okpebholo will give you wings to fly like he has given me and other appointees. Am mighty proud of you, and i encourage you to refuse to be caged but to instead work with all leaders and stakeholders. I encourage you not to play divisive politics but to be smart enough to leave a great legacy of your time as a chairman”.

Akoko Edo is now set for development as the state and local government will now be working in synergy to ensure that the grassroot and our people are taken care of substantially. The dividends of Demicratic governance will now be evenly distributed across the local government.
