Security Propaganda To Discredit Gov Monday Okpebholo Will Fail, As A New Edo Has Risen
The last administration of PDP headed by Godwin Obaseki never known what practical governance means. This is so because most of the policies it intended to achieved were hinged on empty Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs). The very few that we can say it implemented was not different from what the committee on recovery of assets and verification of contracts openly condemned as over-bloated and in most cases not executed in full or haphazardly done.
Practical governance is an idealistic concept developed by the current Governor of Edo state Sen Monday Okpebholo to make the people see how possible it is to utilise their federal allocations in their very eyes by feeling and touching projects.
Recall that Gov Monday Okpebholo kick-starts his administration immediately he was sworn in. In his inaugural speech, he pledged to prioritize Security, Healthcare, Infrastructure, Food security and Education. Recall also that the made his first appointments as he was sworn in too. They include:- Commissioner for Health, Dr Syril Oshiomhole, Musa Okhilor Esq, Secretary to the State and Hon Samson Osagie PhD, Attorney General of the state. The governor also said he bemoans incessant cases of kidnapping and other crimes, and will be firmed in dealing with criminals and improve the security of the state. I drew the above analogy so that our people will know that the taste of the pudding is from the eating. Do not subscribe to PDP propaganda and falsehood as Governor Okpebholo’s renewed Edo state will bring progress and development to the people as it has already started.
Wasn’t it here In Edo state that former Governor Obaseki had to stay over a year before he fumbled to put a cabinet in place? In comparison therefore a reasonable-minded Edo person will not listen to misconception, false propaganda and distortion of facts of the PDP in order to subject the government of Senator Monday Okpebholo to public revulsion and unacceptabilty.
The PDPs and its propagandists have been inventing fallacies to get the government of Monday Okpebholo discredited and repudiated by the people of Edo state from its inception. They started with taciturnity and that Sen Monday Okpebholo won’t be able to govern Edo state as he lacks the requisite qualifications and capacities. But the people’s governor of Edo State has disappointed them to the bone marrow as he started work in earnest with a humongous fly-over project in Aduwawa Benin city Edo state, and the Benin Ekpoma Auchi Road which for 8 years Godwin Obaseki said was never going to be possible since it is Federal Government Road. The idea is to place Edo state in juxtaposition with others who have been enjoying the benefits of flyover in the last 2 decades. Sadly, the PDP propagandists and distortionists have been disappointed as currently the Benin City Flyover is moving at a positively amazing direction to the chagrin of PDP political manoeuvres.
Their latest PDP chicanery is the Uromi wanton killings wherein some 16 Hausa hunters were inadvertently killed as they were mistook as kidnappers. Thank God that some patriotic and courageous Uromi persons summon courage to quickly intervened and saved about 11 of the hunters who are currently in Irrua General Hospital receiving recuperation.
PDP propagandists have taken advantage of the security challenges leading to the Uromi’s unfortunate killings to mean that the Gov of Edo state is not capable of providing security for Edo people and therefore should hand-over power to Asue Ighodalo the PDP candidate in the last election who lost woefully. Our psyche is fresh to the manipulative Edo Security Network carelessly established to hunt-down Edo opposition political parties members in the just voted-out administration. If PDP wants to capitalize on Insecurity, the blood of the police-orderly of Sen Monday Okpebholo killed by the over-zealous Edo Security Network spear-headed by one notorious PDP big man still on the run till date is also fresh in mind. How about the gruesome murder of some persons in Okpella Edo North and the herdsmen decapitation of human heads in Akoko Edo? I think that PDP should be told that using security challenges to disparage the government of senator Monday Okpebholo will be distasteful to the people of Edo state.
It is premature and even unnecessary to start to access Governor Okpebholo’s security capacity this time. A reasonable minded Edo person/s will know that first on the list of Gov Okpebholo’s priority is Security and that’s why he sent his Chief Security Officer (CSO) immediately to Uromi to gather on the spot information. This was followed by the Governor and other big fish in his government to assuage and reassure resident Hausas and indigenous people of Uromi that the government of Edo State is already on top of the matter.
Is PDP who just got humiliated out of the state after 8 years of administration with nothing to show suppose to talk about insecurity? Let me quickly remind the PDP to be quiet and talk not about INSECURITY in Edo state.

To cap it all is the most brutal and despicable method in which the PDP state chairman Mr Tony Aziegbemi was kidnapped. While the chairman was languishing in the den of kidnappers, Godwin Obaseki was having cocktail party with his none indigenous Edo people who he brought from Lagos and Delta state to siphon our hard earned resources.
Nigeria in recent times has recorded unprecedented security challenges such as Boko Haram Terrorists attacks, militancy, armed robbery, banditry, kidnapping for ransom, Fulani-Herders farmers clashes, cultism among other social vices. To undermine the above and calls for the removal of any government including that of Edo State is morally wrong and should be disregarded.
