Netanyahu vows to “destroy Iranian Axis” in Jewish New Year celebration

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) General Staff Forum on Monday, pledging to confront what he called the “Iranian axis,” and describing the coming Jewish year as potentially “historic for Israel’s security.”
Netanyahu, joined by Defense Minister Israel Katz and IOF Chief-of-Staff Eyal Zamir, met with senior military leaders to discuss “security challenges” across various sectors and to mark the Jewish New Year with a toast.
In his address, Netanyahu said, “We are in the midst of a struggle in which we are overcoming our enemies, and we need to destroy the Iranian axis, and this is within our means. This is what stands before us in the coming year, which could be a historic year for the security of Israel.”
He praised the IOF for its “major successes” and “heroism,” claiming that the current generation of soldiers are making sacrifices.
The Prime Minister outlined ‘Israel’s’ ongoing military offensives in Gaza, including the elimination of Hamas, the return of hostages, and preventing future threats from the enclave, while emphasizing that these are not the only objectives.
“In my view, this demands two basic qualities: Unity in moments of crisis, and determination in every moment. May we have a year of security, victory and unity. Happy New Year,” Netanyahu’s statement concluded.
